I finally made the big leap enabling SSL on my customer websites and personal websites. Let’s Encrypt is a free, automated, and open certificate authority (CA) for public. Let’s Encrypt certificates are valid for 3 months and after three months you could renew the certificate. Three months is pretty short for me therefore I would automate it using scripts (CertBot, Let’s Encrypt API )
I like the look of it so far. It is way more secure sending information from my pc to my server. Anyone visiting my website should feel a bit more secure too since communication from your PC and my server is safer then http.
SSL is very expensive to get. If you have 10+ website like me it would cost you over $1,000 a year to get SSL. I rather suck it up and not pay for the SSL. Now that SSL is free giving us a peace of mind now that its affordable.
